How the ENAXMART virtual try-on service handles information - with particular care for the customer photos that make a try-on possible.
Scope of this policy
This policy explains how the ENAXMART virtual try-on service handles information when a jewelry retailer uses the studio and when a retailer's customer takes a try-on. It applies to the try-on experience delivered online and on in-store devices.
Where a retailer uses ENAXMART with their own customers, the retailer is responsible for the relationship with those customers, including obtaining any consent needed to capture and use a photo for a try-on.
Information we collect
Try-on images
To render a piece, the service processes a photo of a customer's hand, neck, ear or wrist, along with the resulting render.
Sizing signals
Measurements or size estimates derived from a photo or entered by a customer, so a confirmed size can accompany an order.
Account and enquiry details
Details a retailer provides when signing up or contacting us - such as name, work email, business name, role and what they would like to do.
Usage information
Which catalog pieces were tried on and basic technical information needed to operate and secure the service.
Try-on photos and image data
A customer's photo is the most sensitive information the service touches, and it is treated accordingly:
- By default, a customer's try-on photo is deleted after the session ends, or after a short revisit window a retailer configures.
- A generated render is treated with the same care as the source photo and removed on the same schedule.
- Aggregate try-on activity used for analytics is decoupled from the identifiable image wherever possible, so the two are not retained together needlessly.
How we use information
- To render a selected piece onto a customer's photo with accurate scale, light and sparkle.
- To recommend a size from a photo or an entered measurement.
- To surface complementary pieces from the retailer's own catalog.
- To operate, secure, support and improve the service.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use customer try-on photos to advertise to those customers.
How long we keep it
Try-on photos and renders follow the short-retention rule described above. Sizing signals tied to an order are kept as long as needed to fulfil and support that order. Account and enquiry details are kept while an account is active or as needed to respond to an enquiry. Aggregate, de-identified analytics may be kept longer to understand how the service is used.
When information is shared
- Service providers who host or support the platform, bound to handle information only for that purpose.
- The retailer whose studio a try-on took place in, for the pieces tried on and any confirmed size.
- Where required by law, or to protect the security and integrity of the service.
How we protect it
Information is encrypted in transit and at rest. Access to customer images is limited to what a task requires, on a need-to-use basis. Short retention is itself a protection: the surest way to safeguard a photo is not to keep it once its purpose is served.
Your choices
A retailer can request access to, correction of, or deletion of information associated with their account or their customers, and we will act on such requests. Because retention defaults are short, much customer image data will already have been removed by the time a request is made.
Children
The service is intended for jewelry retailers and their adult customers. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly process a child's image for a try-on.
Changes to this policy
As the service evolves, this policy may be updated to reflect how it actually works. Material changes will be described here in plain language rather than buried in edits.
Reaching us
Questions about this policy, or a specific request about data, can be sent through the contact page, where you will also find the best way to reach the team.
